MAINTENANCE
Cleaning/Defrosting
CLEANING THE BODY AND CONTROL STRIP
•
Use only warm water with a little dish washing liquid
•
Never use scouring powder, abrasive sponges (even plastic) or
strong chemicals (alcohol, solvent, etc.).
•
Dust the condenser grille behind the cabinet at least once a year
(C1).
CLEANING THE INNER LINER
•
Unplug the unit. Wash it with warm water with a little dish washing
liquid. Rinse with water and vinegar.
•
Never use strong chemicals (alcohol, solvent, etc.) which could
give your wine an unpleasant odor.
CLEANING THE GLASS DOOR
If your unit has a glass door, use window cleaner or a solution of mild
detergent.
Never use scouring powder.
DEFROSTING
Your wine cabinet will defrost automatically after each operating cycle.
Periodically check that the water drains freely through the tubes and
pipes to the “Hydrator” bin.
REPLACING ACTIVATED CHARCOAL
The activated charcoal filter ensures correct control of the wine cabi-
net and removes unpleasant odors. It should be replaced every 2 or
3 years, or sooner if your cabinet begins to smell. The filter is located
inside the cabinet under the defrost drain. Pull out the old cartridge
and insert a replacement filter.

Unplug the cabinet.
We strongly recommend that you aerate the unit by keeping the door
open with corks and adhesive, for example. Empty the “Hydrator” bin
and clean it.
CHANGING THE BULB

Unplug the unit.
•
Remove the light bulb and replace with an identical bulb of the
same size (E14 - 15W).
POWER FAILURES
The temperature of your wine cabinet will not be affected by power
outages of several hours if you avoid opening the door too often.
These variations of several degrees will not unduly affect the wine or
prevent proper aging.
WARNING
If your cabinet has a lock, keep the keys of reach of children. They
could accidentally lock themselves inside the wine cabinet. For this
reason, you should always remove the lock or the entire door if you
ever decide to dispose of your wine cabinet.
Troubleshooting

The chiller cabinet will not go on

The unit may not be plugged in or wires may be damaged,
•
The thermostat may be switched “OFF”.
THE CABINET MAKES NOISE
•
The ground may be unstable.
•
The cabinet level may be incorrectly adjusted.
MOISTURE HAS ACCUMULATED INSIDE
•
The thermostat may be set incorrectly,
•
The door may be opened too frequently.
Hot muggy weather will increase condensation inside the cabinet.
MOISTURE HAS ACCUMULATED OUTSIDE
•
The thermostat may be set incorrectly.
Hot muggy weather will also increase condensation outside the cab-
inet. The cabinet will dry out when the weather becomes dryer.
THERE ARE ODORS INSIDE THE CABINET
•
The “Hydrator” bin may need cleaning.
•
The filter cartridge may be spent.
THE LAMP WILL NOT GO ON
•
The cabinet may be unplugged
•
The bulb may be burned out.
The door may have been left open. If the door is left open (for more
than a few minutes), a protection circuit will automatically turn the light
off.
Lamp operation will return to normal several minutes after the door is
closed.
CUSTOMER SERVICE
More serious problems may require servicing by :
•
your dealer or the customer service center during the guarantee
period.
•
any other approved service agent.
When you call, always give the full reference of your chiller cabinet
(model, type and serial number).
This information is on your guarantee card and on the rating plate (on
the bottom left side of the inner liner).
