9 BIOS
9.1 Overview
A flash resides on the SPI bus for BIOS and configuration storage. A 32 Mbit device is used for this function.
This permits the BIOS to be upgraded in the field via a bootable device rather than by physically removing
an EEPROM. The System BIOS, Video BIOS, server management, and PCI configuration are housed in this
flash.
The following table clarifies what is and is not supported by the PowerEdge R510 BIOS code.
