— G ETTING S TARTED —
After you have inserted the batteries,
press the
RESET
key. JokeMaster II’s
LCD will then display part of a joke
randomly selected from one of the
categories. To see the next part of
that joke, press
SCROLL
. Or to enter
the Topic Options mode, press
CATE
-
GORY
.
— S ELECTING A C ATEGORY —
The Categories
J okeMaster II offers 30 different cat-
egories of jokes to entertain you. The
categories include the following:
Mixed Howls, Marriage, For
Thinkers, Quickies, Headlines &
Labels, More Fun, Insults, Fun
Quotes, Puns, Knock Knock, Parents,
I Wonder, State Mottoes, Even More,
Blonde Jokes, Blondes’ Revenge,
Lawyer Jokes, For the Kids, Corny
Jokes, Animals, Woman-Bashing,
Man-Bashing, Doctor Jokes, Golf
Jokes, One-Liners, Bar Jokes,
Random Jokes, Age Jokes, Rednecks
and Yo’ Momma Jokes.
How to Select a Category
You can choose a new category at
any time when using JokeMaster II.
Simply press the
CATEGORY
button to
enter the Topic Options mode. Then
use the
SCROLL
button to review the
30 categories. When the category
you’d like appears on the LCD, press
ON
/
SELECT
to confirm your choice.
The LCD then displays the beginning
of a joke from that selected category.
— V IEWING A J OKE —
SCROLL Button
Once part of a joke is displayed on
the screen, press the
SCROLL
button to
view the remainder of that joke.
(Sometimes an arrow on the screen
lets you know that there is a “punch
line” held back, for example, in a
question and answer joke. When you
see an arrow, hit
SCROLL
again to
reveal the final part of the joke.)
When you reach the end of the joke,
you may press the
SCROLL
button
again if you’d like to start at the
beginning of the joke to re-read it.
You can re-read the same joke as
many times as you like, simply by
pressing
SCROLL
each time you come
to the end of the joke.
ON
/
SELECT Button
Once you have selected a category of
jokes, you may press the
ON
/
SELECT
button to jump to a new joke.
(Remember then to press
SCROLL
if
you want to read the entire joke.) You
can press
ON
/
SELECT
repeatedly to
scroll through the beginnings of
jokes in that category.
— S AVING J OKES —
Maybe you’d like to memorize some
of the jokes or read them again when
your friends are around. JokeMaster
II lets you save jokes that you partic-

ly again.
Saving a Joke Currently On Screen
To save the joke you are reading, sim-
ply press the
SAVE
key. The LCD will
display "SAVED # 01," indicating the
saved number of the joke is 01.
(JokeMaster II assigns each saved
joke a number so it can be located
again easily.) Then press the
ON / SELECT key to return to the same
joke. Press ON / SELECT another time to
go on to another joke.
— N UMBER OF J OKES Y OU C AN S AVE —
JokeMaster II can save up to 10 jokes
at a time and will assign numbers for
those jokes. It doesn’t let you make
the mistake of saving a joke twice. If
the joke you are attempting to save
has already been saved, the LCD will
display "ALREADY SAVED." If you
wish to save a joke after 10 jokes have
already been saved, the current (11th)
joke will then take the place of the
first saved joke. The next joke, that is,
the 12th joke you save, will replace
the second saved joke, and so on.
— R ECALLING S AVED J OKES —
It’s easy to return to a joke once you
have saved it. First press the RECALL
button. The LCD will display
"RECALL # 01." Next press SCROLL
to scroll through the identifying num-
bers of the saved jokes. When the
number of the saved joke you wish to
see appears on the LCD, simply press
ON
/
SELECT
to recall the joke.
If you push the
RECALL
button when
you have no jokes saved, the LCD
will remind you of this by displaying
“UNSAVED” on the screen.
— R EPEATING A C ATEGORY
—
Within one session of use, when you
reach the end of all the jokes in a cat-
egory, the LCD will display “THE
END
.” The next time you select that
same category again, the LCD will
read “DISPLAYED ALREADY SKIP
Y/N
” with the “Y” flashing. If you
change your mind and want to skip
this category, press
ON
/
SELECT
to con-
firm “Y” for “yes.” JokeMaster II will
return you to the list of joke cate-
gories so you can make another selec-
tion. If you don’t wish to skip the cat-
egory, press the SCROLL button to
make the “N” flash, and next press
ON
/
SELECT
. The beginning of the first
joke of that category will then appear
on the LCD.
If no button is pushed for three minutes, your JokeMaster
II will switch off to save your batteries.
Just push the
ON / SELECT
button
to continue where you left off.
