Characteristics

Installation

Positioning options

The modular unit is mounted on a DIN rail in the electrical
cabinet.

Installing the CTs (current transformers)

• The CT wire length can be extended by up to 1.5 m (for wire type H03VV-F or H05V-K).

• CTs do not have a connection polarity.

• It is important to check that the CT assigned to phase 1 (see connection diagrams) actually

measures phase 1 (the same must be done for phases 2 and 3).

• It is possible to pass several conductors from the same phase through a single CT (maximum

interior Ø 10 mm).

Starting up

When the

TYWATT TRI is switched on, it determines the type of meter wired

to its terminals. This takes around 10 seconds:

- The red LED is on steady.
- The consumption total begins (in Wh up to 1 kWh (fig.1), then in kWh
(fig.2)), with no indication of the price period.

After 10 seconds:

- The red LED is on and steady if TYWATT TRI is operating with an
electronic meter (see § 6.5) or flashes if TYWATT TRI is operating with an
electromechanical meter,
- The current price period indicator is displayed (fig. 3).

Note: Switch on the heating. TWATT TRI’s operation can be confirmed immediately when the counting
begins (fig.1 or fig.2).

TYWATT TRI measures the number of kilowatt-hours consumed by part of a three-phase 230 V
powered electric system (heating, DHW, etc.). It can be used with electromechanical meters as well as
with three-phase electronic meters.
TYWATT TRI performs 2 types of totals:

C1 (cumulated total since first startup, non erasable)
C2 (cumulated total since last reset, erasable)

The current is measured by external measuring devices (current transformers, CT).
