These release notes highlight the product features, modifications, known caveats and any special
considerations for the set of utilities that are used to upgrade software, backup the configuration
parameters, reload the configuration parameters, and manage the inventory for products designed by
TeleComp R&D. This document contains both the release notes and user manuals for each of the
utilities.

E A T U R E S
The utilities consist of the following applications:
• Upgrade
Æ
Used to update the software in a TeleComp R&D Device to a new version.
• Backup
Æ
Used to backup a configuration database in a TeleComp R&D Device to a
secondary storage server.
• Reload
Æ
Used to restore a configuration database to a TeleComp R&D Device using
the file previously saved by Backup.
• Getinfo
Æ
Accumulate device information on a single or multiple devices. Also used
during product registration.
• Devrep
Æ
Display device information stored in the output files generated by Getinfo.
• Setreg
Æ
Install registration to a single or multiple devices. Used in conjunction with
Getinfo after new software is loaded on devices.
At the present time, these utilites operate on any of the following Operating Systems:
HP-UX Æ 10.20 or later.
Solaris
Æ SunOS 2.6 or later.
