STARTING THE EVENT LOG VIEWER

When you launch the MIDAS Event Log Viewer for the first time, a user profile needs to
be created. A profile screen will appear automatically:

The DataSource is the
SQL Name (usually the
machine name) or IP
Address of your SQL
Server.

With MIDAS 4.3,
Authentication
should always be
set to Windows.

This controls the
number of days
displayed in
Chronlogy Views.

Three Display Sizes are
supported. The larger
the display size, the
more data visible
without scrolling.

Once you have filled out the profile screen, the MIDAS Event Log Viewer will verify the
SQL datasource, and if appropriate save your profile.

The Connection String being tested is displayed.

A status message is displayed.
