SUPPORT
B.1 Introduction
The ASI-R provides state-of-the-art MPE decapsulation based on the DVB Specification
for Data Broadcasting (EN 301 192). The ASI-R provides the following configuration
features:
• IP Decapsulation per Multi-Protocol Encapsulation (EN 301 192)
• Unicast Routing
• Multicast Routing
• Section Packing and Non-Section Packing
• IGMP Version 3
B.2 IP
Configuration
Both Unicast and Multicast IP datagrams are encapsulated per the Multi-Protocol
Encapsulation specification. Routing of datagrams is accomplished by configuration of
PIDs in the ASI-R, as described in the following section.
B.2.1 Unicast
Routing
Unicast routing provides point-to-point delivery of IP datagrams. Routes for Unicast IP
packets are configured according to the following:
• IP Addresses, which fall into three classes, namely: A (0.0.0.0 to
127.255.255.255), B (128.0.0.0 to 191.255.255.255) and C (192.0.0.0 to
223.255.255.255).
• Medium Access Control (MAC) Addresses, which identify the destination
device (next-hop) to which the packets are sent. The least-significant bit of the
