o-ring will result in engine failure

.

Reinstall oil strainer, spring, and oil drainage bolt. Torque

oil drainage bolt to 18 ft.lbs. (13.3 Nm)

Fill crankcase with specified lubricant as described at the

beginning of this section.

NOTE: Used lubricant should be disposed of at an approved

disposal site. See your local oil retailer for more informa-

tion.

CAUTION:

Attempting to start the engine before it has been properly

filled with lubricant will result in equipment failure.

CHECKING/CLEANING AIR FILTER

The air filter element must be kept clean to provide good

engine power. If you use your vehicle under normal, low-

tension conditions, you should service the air filter at the

intervals specified. If you ride in dusty, wet, or muddy con-

ditions, you will need to inspect the air filter element much

more frequently.
NOTE: Do not operate the engine without the air filter ele-

ments in place. Rapid engine wear will result.

CAUTION:

Always check the air filter element after riding in severe

conditions and clean or replace as needed. Operating

the ATV with a clogged air filter could cause engine

damage.

Checking the air filter:
There is a clear air filter check cap at the bottom of the air

filter case. If there is dust or water in this cap, empty the cap

and clean the air filter element and case.
