Make sure that the user field entry in /etc/passwd file against your user name is non-null. It
should always contain legal valid values.

For example: wind:x:512:0:Windriver User:/home/wind:/bin/bash

1. Start the workbench by running startworkbench.sh script under the Wind River

installation directory
/windriver/wrlinux-3.0

or by

double clicking the workbench icon on the desktop.
The Application Development screen appears.

2. You will be asked to specify a workspace for the development of projects. Specify the

absolute path of a directory, for example /home// , where
you want to save the projects. You should have the write permissions for the directory. For
example, you may specify /home/wind/workspace as a workspace directory.
