Configuring the MESHII-AA-O*
Refer to provided documentation for pre-set
configuration settings. The following procedures may
be necessary if purchased from distribution stock or in
order to set custom configurations.
1. Connect the first Ethernet straight-through cable
from the ‘IN’ on the PIM to either a laptop or a PC
LAN port.
2. Connect the second Ethernet straight-through cable
from the ‘OUT’ on the same PIM to the MESHII node
LAN port.
3. Verify that the static IP address on the laptop is set
to 192.168.1.x subnet.
4. Open a web browser to access the Host on its
192.168.1.10 IP address; this is the default address
for the unit.
5. Enter the following to access the GUI:
ID: admin
Password: admin
Note:
Ensure that all other network interface
connections including your laptop Wifi are disabled.
6. Select: ‘Basic Wireless’ and choose your country.
If purchased and deployed in North America skip to
step 7.

Note:
It is the user’s responsibility to ensure that the
correct country is chosen. KBC accepts no liability for
incorrectly set up equipment.
7. Each MESHII node contains 2 radios. R1 is the
Client & R2 the Host/AP. Frequency selection is
performed on R2.
Select: R2 (Access Point) tab
Configure: a unique SSID to match the SSID code
on the MESHII node’s R1 Client you are connecting
to.
8. Select:
frequencies are available in your location. A static
frequency selection is recommended.
Select: one of the available channels.
Select:
Select:
The MESHII R2 Host/AP will now connect to a Client
radio R1 of a second MESHII node or a WESII-AC Client
with a matching SSID and pre-shared key
9. Repeat 1 to 8 for each MESHII node in the system.
Refer to included documentation for LAN IP addresses.
Note:
The SSID, pre-shared key, Country Code & HT
bandwidth must be the same for a MESHII Host/AP to
connect to a MESHII Client or WESII-AC Client and for a
MESHII Client to a MESHII Host, WESI-AA or WESII-AB
Host.
10. Note down all the MAC addresses and SSIDs used in
the application for future reference.
Note:
If connecting a MESHII Client (R1) to a WESII-AA
ptp Host/AP the MAC lock functions must be enabled for
each other’s wireless MAC addresses.
MESHII topology design is critical to ensure network loops
are not created, multiple units do not communicate on the
same frequency or too many units communicate with each
other. A bench test is highly recommended. For any
questions regarding connection topology contact KBC
technical assistance.

The RSSI LEDs refer only to the Client R1 radio
and will illuminate when connected to a MESHII
Host/AP R2, or WESII-AA/WESII-AB Host. If LEDs are
not illuminated the MESHII Host/AP R2 may be
connected to a Client R1 of another MESHII node.
