Maintenance and Care
In order to guarantee functional reliability of the
smoke detector, maintenance in compliance with
DIN EN 14676 must be completed at least once per
year. Proceed as follows:
– Remove dust from the smoke detector with a
soft cloth.
– If necessary, remove dirt with a damp cloth.
Do not use any cleaners.
– Test the device for proper function
(see „Testing Function“).
– If you do not hear an alarm response, the
smoke detector must be replaced.
Operational Lifespan of Battery
The battery is permanently installed in the smoke
detector and cannot be removed.
As soon as the battery weakens, a peep will sound
every minute; when the battery is exhausted after
10 years, a longer peep will sound every minute,
depending on which of these events occurs first.
In these cases you should install a new smoke
detector.
Important:
Smoke detectors should be replaced every 10 years.
