FEATURES

KNOW YOUR SMART HEADPHONES

See Figure 1, page 10.
The safe use of this product requires an understanding of
the information on the product and in this operator’s man-
ual. Before use of this product, familiarize yourself with all
operating features and safety rules.
NOTE: The earphone with the battery compartment will be
referred to as the LEFT side. The earphone with the volume
control will be referred to as the RIGHT side.

ADJUSTABLE PADDED HEADBAND

The adjustable headband is flexible and padded for operator
comfort.

AUTO POWER-OFF

Your headphones will automatically shut down if they are
not in use for four hours.

1/8 IN. AUXILIARY INPUT JACK AND CABLE

Allows you to listen to MP3 and similar sound devices.

LOW POWER CONSUMPTION

Your headphones feature low energy requirements during
normal use for extended operation.

MICROPHONES

The microphones allow you to hear your voice as well as
background noise. They are controlled with the volume knob
on the right earphone.

NOISE SUPPRESSION

Electronic noise suppression allows for normal human con-
versation while limiting the environment noise.

QUICK RESPONSE CIRCUITRY

Helps reduce impulse noise such as gun shots and ham-
mer blows.

ON/OFF/VOLUME KNOB

The on/off/volume knob, located on the right earphone, con-
trols the microphone level and ambient noise being transmit-
ted through the earcups. It also turns the power on and off.

Voltage .......................................................................4V DC

IP Rating ........................................................................54*

*IP Rating: Specifies the environmental protection the product enclosure provides. An IP Rating of 54 denotes protection against harmful

deposits of dust and protection against water sprayed from all directions. The water resistance rating applies only when the battery cap

is installed.

ATTENUATION DATA

ANSI S3.19-1974

The NRR calculated from these laboratory-based attenu-
ation data is 25. Improper fit of this device will reduce its
effectiveness in attenuating noise. Consult instructions for
use for proper fit.
The level of noise entering a person’s ears when a hearing
protector is worn as directed is closely approximated by
the difference between the A-weighted environmental noise
level and the NRR.
EXAMPLE:
1. The environmental noise level as measured at the ear is
92 dBA.
2. The NRR is 25 decibels. (dB)
3. The level of noise entering the ear is approximately
equal to 67 dBA.
CAUTION: For noise environments dominated by frequen-
cies below 500 Hz, the C-weighted environmental noise
level should be used.
Earmuffs must be worn at all times in noisy surroundings
for proper protection.

Although hearing protec-
tors can be recommended
for protection against the
harmful effects of impul-
sive noise, the noise reduc-
tion rating (NRR) is based
on the attenuation of con-
tinuous noise and may not
be an accurate indicator of
the protection attainable
against impulsive noise such as gunfire. (Wording required
by EPA)
The EPA has selected the NRR as the measure of a hearing
protector’s noise reducing capabilities. Aearo Technologies
makes no warranties as to the suitability of the NRR as a
measure of actual workplace protection since such protec-
tion is highly dependent on user training, motivation, and
utilization. A better estimate of workplace protection can be
obtained by derating the labeled NRR of this, or any other
hearing protector, by 50%.
