OPERATION

UNDERSTANDING LINEAR AND SHUFFLE
MODES

Depressing the

MODE button allows you to choose between

linear and shuffle modes.
LINEAR MODE:
Play occurs inside folders first, followed by songs in the
root directory. If folders are nested inside each other, play
will start with the innermost folder and continue outward
until the root directory is reached. The order of song play is
based first on file name (0–9, then A–Z, then a–z) then on
file format (AAC, MP3, WAV, then WMA).
SHUFFLE MODE:
Shuffle mode plays songs in random order.

LOADING SONGS ONTO THE MUSIC PLAYER

See Figure 3, page 10.
NOTE: Due to variations in computer software and hardware,
this unit is not guaranteed to operate with all computers.

Connect the USB cable to a USB 2.0 port on your com-
puter and the input/output jack on the music player. The
player will mount on your computer in the same way as
any other type of removable drive.

NOTE: Depending on the number of tracks loaded into
the memory, it may take several seconds for the music
player to power up and be recognized by the computer.

Copy the desired songs from your computer to the music
player. Songs may be copied into the root directory or
they can be organized in subfolders. The subfolders can
either be created on your computer and then copied to
the player, or they can be created directly on the player
itself.

NOTE: A minimum of 5 MB of space must remain unused

on the music player to allow the software to operate cor-
rectly.

Attempting to copy Secure WMA files will give you an
error message. These files must be converted to WMA
before they will play on the music player.

When you are finished copying the desired files onto the
music player, eject the music player, then disconnect the
USB cable from both the player and the computer.

NOTE: As soon as the USB cable is disconnected from
the music player, music will begin to play. If play does not
begin and the LED lights flash an error, the unit may be
too full. Delete some of the files to free enough memory
for the unit to play correctly.

NOTE: Always properly eject the music player according
to the directions of your computer operating system before
disconnecting the USB cable. Disconnecting the USB cable
without first ejecting the music player may cause a loss of
data from the player.

LISTENING TO MUSIC ON THE MUSIC
PLAYER

See Figures 4 - 5, page 10.

Connect the earbuds to the input/output jack on the music
player.

Press and hold the

button for approximately 2-6

seconds to turn the music player on. The player will begin
to play as soon as you turn the power on.

NOTE: If you have just disconnected the USB cable from
the player, music play will begin automatically.

Choose the desired mode of player operation. See
Understanding Linear and Shuffle Modes for detailed
information.

Clip the music player to your belt loop or install in the
adjustable armband, if desired, for convenient carrying.
