Proper Care
Clean the spindle with a lint-
free dry cloth to remove any
dirt after each use. When not in
use, store the gage in its box
and in a dry location at ambi-
ent temperature.
DO NOT oil the spindle!
Gage Mounting
The 647 has a stem diameter
of 3/8" and may be clamped
to holders, fixtures and stands
with a 3/8" bore diameter.
The 647M has a stem diameter
of 8mm and may be clamped
to holders, fixtures and stands
with a 8mm bore diameter.
For additional mounting flex-
ibility, 647 Series gages can
be fitted with a lug-on-center
back (PT15052), available
separately.

647 and 647M Dial Comparator Gages are precise instruments that
provide exceptionally accurate length comparison measurements. We
recommend you read this User Guide before using the gages.
Adjustments
Once the gage is setup and securely clamped, zero to the required
height with a master such as a gage block. Mount the gage so that the
hand is close to zero on the dial.
To precisely zero the gage, remove the safety cap and access the
knurled fine adjustment screw. Turn clockwise or counter-clockwise as
needed to position the hand at precisely zero.
