COVER REMOVAL & REPLACEMENT:
A cover is included with every HARMONY cushion to protect the contoured foam base and cushion
overlay from fluids, prevent the cushion cells from protruding beyond the wheelchair seat and aid
in slide board transfers. The bottom of the cover is made of non-skid material, helping to keep
the cushion more secure in the chair.
To Remove The Cover:
1. Open the valve flap on the side of the cover and push the valve inside the cover.
2. Unzip the outside and inside zippers.
3. Remove contoured foam base and cushion overlay from cover.
To Replace The Cover:
NOTE: Use directional labels found on the product.
1. Place cover with non-skid surface down.
2. Insert the contoured foam base, front first and with the flat surface down, into the bottom
section of the cover.
3. Insert the cushion overlay, front first and cells up, into the top section of the cover.
4. Open the valve flap.
5. Reach inside the top section of the cover and insert the valve through the hole under the valve
flap.
6. Close the valve flap and both zippers.
7. Follow adjusment instructions.
CLEANING & DISINFECTING YOUR PRODUCT:
Cleaning and disinfecting are two separate processes. Cleaning must precede disinfection. When
used with multiple patients, the HARMONY cushion must be cleaned, disinfected, and checked for
proper functioning beetween patients.
CLEANING THE COVER
1. Remove cover.
2. Machine wash in cold water (30˚ C). No bleach.
3. Air dry thoroughly.
DISINFECTING THE COVER
1. Machine wash in hot water (60˚ C). No bleach.
2. Air dry thoroughly.
CLEANING THE HARMONY CUSHION OVERLAY
1. Remove the cushion overlay. Close the valve.
2. ROHO, Inc. recommends the use of dish washing soap, laundry detergent, or other multi-
purpose detergents for general cleaning.
3. Use a damp cloth, sponge, or soft plastic bristle brush to gently scrub cushion overlay
surfaces.
4. Rinse with fresh water.
5. Pat dry with towel or air dry thoroughly.
DISINFECTING THE HARMONY CUSHION OVERLAY
1. Cushion overlay must be cleaned to remove any soil prior to disinfecting.
2. Repeat cleaning instructions above using a disinfecting solution of 1/2 cup household
liquid bleach per 1 quart of warm water (125 ml bleach to 1 liter of warm water) instead
of detergent.
3. Allow disinfecting solution to remain on cushion overlay surfaces for a minimum of 10
minutes.
4. Rinse and dry per cleaning instructions.
5. Most multipurpose disinfectants may be safely used in place of bleach/water solution if
used according to the disinfectant manufacturer’s instructions.
