20 Amp ESC:
The Typhoon ™ 3D PNP ™ can be powered by either a 9-cell
10.8V 1000mAh Ni-MH or a 3S 11.1V 2100mAh Li-Po
battery pack. Using the Thunder Power 3S battery will
greatly increase the power, performance, and flight time
of your Typhoon 3D PNP.
The ESC comes with the auto-cut voltage set for the
9-cell Ni-MH battery pack. You must reprogram the
voltage automatic cut-off if you are planning to fly with
the 3S Li-Po battery. Failure to do this will result in
permanent damage to your battery pack.
Reminder: All Li-Po battery packs must be charged
by Li-Po specific chargers only! The included DC Peak
charger will not charge a Li-Po battery pack. Failure to follow
these instructions may result in a fire!
Programming Your ESC:
1. To enter the programming mode, the controller must
be powered up with the throttle in full position and
held there for 5 seconds.
2. When this is done, the ESC will be in the setup mode
and will beep three times indicating this.
3. Once in this programming mode, return the throttle
to mid-stick within 3 seconds, and the ESC will scroll
through the menu.
When in the programming mode, select Yes (up) or
No (down) as follows:
Yes: Move throttle stick to full for approximately 1 second
(controller will beep once), then return to mid-stick.
No: Move throttle stick to low throttle for 1 second
(controller will beep once), and then return to mid-stick.
A. Menu Item 1: Voltage Auto Cutoff
1 beep – auto cutoff
* Need to act within 5 seconds:
Li-Po – “Up” (see above)
Ni-MH – “Down” (stock setting)
After the setting of this parameter, the controller will wait
approximately 3 seconds before moving to next menu item.
B. Menu Item 2: Brake Setting
2 beeps – Brake setting
* Need to act within 5 seconds:
Brake off – Up (stock setting)
Brake on – Down
C. Menu Item 3: Motor Timing
3 beeps – Motor Timing
* Need to act within 5 seconds:
Outrunner (and 4-pole or greater motors) – Up
Inrunner (2-pole motors) – Down (stock setting)
After setting the desired parameters, simply power down
the ESC and then re-arm the controller.
Motor Arming:
The ESC will not arm the motor until the throttle stick
is moved to low throttle and held there for 1 second or
more. Three consecutive beeps will indicate this.

La fonction d’auto coupure du variateur est programmée pour la batterie
9 éléments Ni-MH. Vous devez la programmer de nouveau si vous utilisez la
batterie Li-Po 3S. Un mauvais réglage de cette fonction peut endommager
votre batterie.
Rappel : Toutes batteries Li-Po doivent être chargé avec un chargeur
spécifique. Le chargeur inclus dans ce kit ne peut pas charger ce type de
batterie. Le non respect de cette consigne peut provoquer un incendie!
Programmer Votre Variateur :
1. Entrer sur le programme mode, le variateur doit être allumé avec
l’émetteur sur plein gaz, rester dans cette position pendant
5 secondes.
2. Une fois cette opération faites, le variateur est en mode
programme et il émet un bip à trois reprises.
3. Remettre les gaz au neutre avant 3 secondes et votre variateur
va passer en revue la programmation.
Quand vous êtes en mode programme, sélectionner Oui (haut) et Non (bas)
suivant les indications suivantes :
Oui : Bouger le manche des gaz en butée haute pendant 1 seconde (le
variateur émet un bip), puis retourner au neutre.
Non : Manche des gaz en bas pendant 1 seconde (le variateur émet un
bip), puis retourner au neutre.
A, Menu 1 : Auto Cutoff (coupure automatique)
1 bip - auto cutoff
* doit être activé avant 5 secondes :
Li-Po - “haut” (voir ci-dessus)
Ni-MH - “bas” (valeur d’origine)
Après avoir enregistré ces paramètres, le variateur met environ 3 sec-
ondes à passer au menu suivant.
B, Menu 2 : Paramétrage Frein
2 bips - paramétrage frein
* doit être activé avant 5 secondes :
Frein Off - Haut (valeur d’origine)
Frein On - Bas
C Menu 3 : Timming (limitation) Moteur
3 bips - Timming moteur
* Doit être activé avant 5 secondes :
Sans limitation (moteur 4 pôles ou très puissant) - Haut
Avec limitation (moteur 2 pôles) - Bas (valeur d’origine)
Après enregistrer les paramètres voulus, éteindre simplement le variateur
puis remettre à nouveau en marche.
Mise en Marche Moteur :
Le variateur ne peut mettre en marche le moteur que si le manche des gaz
est en bas, attendre 1 seconde ou plus. Trois bips consécutifs indique que
tout est ok.
