When shipped from the factory the rifle has a protective coat of oil on its metal
parts. Before using the rifle, visually and physically inspect the inside of the barrel
to be sure it is free of any excess oil, grease or any obstructions. Obstructions of
any kind can cause damage to the firearm and may result in serious personal
injury to the shooter and/or others nearby.

The safety button is located on the top rear portion of the receiver (Fig. 2) and must be
manually moved to the desired position by the shooter.
Remember, a firearm’s manual safety is a mechanical device which can never
replace safe firearm handling practices.

The manual safety, when
engaged, prevents the hammer
from striking the firing pin.
When the safety is in the “ON”
(SAFE) position, and the trigger
is pulled fully to its rearward
position, the hammer will
partially fall (shown in fig. 2), but
will not strike the firing pin.
When the safety is in the
“OFF” (FIRE) position, and the
trigger is pulled fully to its
rearward position, the hammer
will fall through its full range of
motion and strike the firing pin.
