When the Self-Test fails. The following table may help to isolate the problem:
Cause Corrective Action
Low signal strength or noisy • Make sure battery is fully charged
• Make sure that the unit is in its proper position, and
all the way down and flat
Initial ppm-m too low or too
high • Make sure battery is fully charged
• Make sure the unit is in its proper position, all the
way down, and flat
• Verify calibration cell is not broken
• Use the Calibration Override
Laser adjustment failed • Make sure battery is fully charged
• Make sure that the unit is in its proper position, and
all the way down and flat
• Verify calibration cell is not broken
**Caution**
Should the instrument not pass after several attempts, do not use the instrument for
survey work until the problem is corrected. Contact HEATH for further assistance.
