• Add precisely 0.5 mL of HI 93738C-0
Reagent C to each cylinder (#1 & #2),
close them and invert several times to
mix.
• Add 0.5 mL of HI 93738D-0 Reagent D
to each cylinder (#1 & #2), close
them and invert several times to mix.
Cylinder 2 is the sample.
• Fill a cuvette up to the 10 mL mark with
blank (#1) and replace the cap.
• Place the blank (#1) into the holder
and ensure that the notch on the cap is
positioned securely into the groove.
• Press ZERO/CFM and the lamp, cuvette
and detector icons will appear on the
display, depending on the measurement
phase.
• After a few seconds, the display will
show “-0.0-”. The meter is now zeroed
and ready for measurement.
• Fill a cuvette up to the 10 mL mark with
the reacted sample (#2) and replace
the cap.
• Insert the sample into the instrument and
ensure that the notch on the cap is
positioned securely into the groove.
VALIDATION PROCEDURE
Use the validation procedure to ensure that the instrument is properly calibrated.
Warning:
Do not validate the instrument with any standard solutions other than the
HANNA CAL CHECK
TM
Standards, otherwise erroneous results will be obtained. For accurate
validation, please perform test at room temperature: 18 to 25°C (64.5 to 77.0°F)
• Turn the meter on by pressing ON/OFF.
• When the beeper sounds briefly and
the LCD displays dashes, the meter is
ready.
SAMPLING PROCEDURE:
It is recommended to analyze chlorine dioxide samples immediately upon collection.
Chlorine dioxide samples must be stored in dark, glass stoppered bottles, with minimal
head space. Excessive heat (greater than 25°C/78°F), agitation and exeposure to light
must be avoided.
INTERFERENCES:
Interference may be caused by strong oxidants.
• Press READ/ and the display will show the
lamp, cuvette and detector icons, depending on the
measurement phase.
• At the end of measurement, the instrument directly
displays concentration in mg/L of chlorine dioxide on
the LCD.
