5 Installation
5.1 Scope of delivery

Collecting container for solar application (1)
2 Drain valve with protective cap (1)

• Please check the contents of packs.
5.2 fitting the collecting container
5.2.1 Securing the collecting container to the wall

• Drill two holes, 160mm apart, into a load bearing wall.
• Secure the collecting container to the wall using wall plugs and bolts
which are suitable for the type of wall.
• Check that the drain valve is closed and the sealing cap is attached.
5.3 Connecting the collecting container

Key:
1 Outlet side of the expansion relief valve
2 Collecting tank
3 Expansion vessel for solar application with auxiliary vessel
4 Solar pump unit
• Connect a heat-resistant pipe to the outlet side of the expansion relief
valve, see 2.3 Hydraulic schematic, no. 1.
• Always lay the pipe so that it slopes down to the collecting container.

Key:
1 Opening for the discharge line
• Guide the free end of the pipe at least 10cm into the plastic bushing of
the upper opening on the collecting container.
5.4 filling/draining the collecting container
5.4.1 filling the collecting container
• Fill the collecting conntainer with 1 litre (basic filling level) of frost-
resistant liquid in order to prevent the container from overheating
when the expansion relief valve is triggered.
