Safety instructions and regulations
2.1
Intended use
The Glow-worm collecting container for solar use has been constructed
using state-of-the-art technology in accordance with the recognised
safety rules and regulations. Nevertheless, there is still a risk of injury
and death to the user or others, or of damage to the unit or other property
in the event of improper use for which it is not intended. Children must be
supervised to ensure that they do not play with the unit.
The Glow-worm collecting container is specially designed for the
operation of Glow-worm solar energy systems with hot water generation
and heating support. The Glow-worm solar energy system is used as a
solar energy system for solar heating support or hot water generation.
The components in the solar circuit have been developed for use with
Glow-worm solar fluid.
Any other use that is not specified in these instructions, or use beyond
that specified in this document, shall be considered improper use.
Any direct commercial or industrial use is also deemed as improper. The
manufacturer/supplier is not liable for any claims or damage resulting
from improper use. The user alone bears the risk.
Intended use includes the following:
- observance of accompanying operating, installation and servicing
instructions for Glow-worm products as well as for other parts of
components of the system
- compliance with all inspection and maintenance conditions listed in
the instructions.
2.2
Regulation and statutory requirements
2.2.1
Installation and settings
Installation, settings and maintenance and repairs to the collecting
container must only be carried out by a recognised competent person
who also assumes the responsibility for installing the unit properly and
commissioning it for the first time.
We accept no liability for any damage caused by failure to observe these
instructions.
•
Install the collecting container as described in this installation
manual.
2.2.2
Risk of scalding from hot solar fluid
Hot solar fluid may suddenly escape through the triggered expansion
relief valve.
•
Ensure that no one is put at risk from escaping hot solar fluid.
•
Install a temperature-resistant discharge line from the expansion relief
valve to the collecting container.
•
Route the discharge line so that it slopes down to the collecting
container.
•
To secure the collecting container to the wall, use suitable wall plugs
and bolts.
•
Always wear protective clothing (protective goggles and gloves) when
handling solar fluid.
•
Avoid any contact with skin.
2.2.3
Risk of poisoning and chemical burns
Incorrect handling of chemicals may result in poisoning and chemical
burn injuries.
•
Handle chemicals with care.
•
Observe the safety information regarding the solar fluid.
2.2.4
Damage caused by improper use and unsuitable tools
Use for which the container is not intended may lead to damage (e.g.
water discharge)!
•
In order to prevent leaks tighten or loosen threaded connections,
with a suitable open-ended spanner - do not use pipe wrenches,
extensions, etc. Incorrect installation may result in leaks.
•
Do not suspend any loads from the pipework (e.g. clothing).
2.2.5
Regulations
•
Observe the national regulations, standards, guidelines and laws.
