Q1. Why does the message “you need to install driver..” pop-on while I install O.S.
via IDE2?
A: This situation occurs when your primary storage device connects to SATA or IDE2.
This is because that IDE2 & SATA interface are supported by VIA VT6421A controller.
Therefore you have to install the related drivers. For detail installation procedure, please
refer to previous section of Ch. 4.5 in this manual.
IDE1 & CF interface are supported by S/B chipset directly without further driver.
Q2. Why does the system hang up when I use CF and IDE1 interface at the same
time?
A: This is AMD LX800 chipset’s limitation. Please refer to the following suggestions to
solve this problem.
-You can adjust PIO mode from Master/Slave Driver PIO Mode of Integrated peripherals
in BIOS setting.
-If you use only one IDE interface, connect it into IDE2 instead of IDE1 to avoid the
conflict.
