OPERATION
The operation of any lawn mower can result In foreign objects thrpvyn into the eyes, which can
result in severe eye damage. Always wear safely glasses or eys shields while operating your
lawn mower or performing any adjustments or repairs. We recommend a wide vision safety

HOW to USE YOUR LAWN MOWER
ENGINE SPEED CONTROL (See Fig. 5)
The engine speed Is controlied by a lever located on the
side of the engine, Fast (4») posJlion Is for starting the
engine, normal cutting, and batter grass bagging Slow
(-m) position is for light cutting, trimming and fuel economy.
ENGINE ZONE CONTROL

CAUTION: Federal regtilafions require
sn engine control to be irrstalted on this
lawn mower in order to minimke the
risk of bJade contact injury. Do not
under any circumstances attempt to
defeat the function of the operator con­
trol, the blade turns when the engine Is
running.
• Your lawn mower Is equipped wtih an operalor pres­
ence control bar which requires the operator to be
positioned behind the lawn mower handle to start and
operata the lawn mower.
TO ADJUST CUTTING HEIGHT (See Fig. 6)
• Raise wheels for low cut and lower wheels for high cut
• Wheels are set In low out for shipping. Adjust cutting
height to suit your requirements Medium position is
best for most fawns
• To change cutting height, squeeze adjuster lever to­
ward wheel.. Move wheel up or down to suit your
requirements. 8e sure alt wheels are In the same
setting
TO EMPTY GRASS CATCHER (See Fig. 7)
• Lift up on grass catcher using Ihe frariie handle.
• Rernove grass catcher with clippings from under lawn
mower,handie’
,
• Empty clipjolngs from bag using both trame handle and
bag handle.
NOTE; Do not drag the bag when emptying: it wHi cause
unnecessary wear.
BEFORE STARTING ENGINE
OIL
Your lawn mower Is shipped without olí In the engine,
• Be sure mower is ieyet and area around oil till is clean.
• Remove engine oil cap w/dlpslick and IK! to the tuli line
on the dipstick
• Use 2D ozs. of oil. For type and grade of oil to usa, see
“ENGINE" In Cystomer flesponslbitlss section of this
manual.
• Pour oil slowly, Do not over III!.
