VoiceTone Create Super Edit Mode Detailed Functional Specification
Super Edit Mode
You might wonder how the developers and product managers at TC-Helicon authored patches for VoiceTone Create. Similar to
methods used on other products, a special mode was created for setting advanced parameters. In and around the office, this mode
in VoiceTone Create was called Super Edit Mode. Super Edit Mode allows access to dozens of parameters per effect. These
parameters are used to design any of the 99 patches in Create. While using this mode during final design we recognized it’s a
powerful feature for an advanced or just plain curious user.
Super Edit Mode is not for the faint of heart. Unlike the simple user interface for VoiceTone Create, this mode was created to allow
the extensive parameter set of the patches to be authored. The team responsible for creating patches took some time to get
familiar with this mode. But have fun, you can always restore your product to its factory state as noted under Button functions.
General
Description
When in Super Edit Mode it is possible to edit the factory patches including their default Tweak X and Y assignments. This guide is
an important reference to know how to edit in the mode, but also to translate the Numeric LED display values to parameters IDs.
Entering Super Edit Mode
To enter the mode, hold down “Performance 2” when connecting power to Create and wait until it boots up. All five Performance
Buttons will flash, then the display will show Patch 1, and “Performance 1” will be lit.
Restoring to Factory Patches
While in Super Edit Mode you can restore to factory patches by press and holding Performance Button 5. All edits will be lost.

•
If a parameter value is flashing, it's currently under the control of either Tweak X or Y. Editing a flashing value will
have no effect, because the master tweak control will override your changes.
•
Adjusting the Parameter ID
knob will cause the display to show the new Parameter ID, then its current value will be
displayed for a short period.
