Push the recoil spring guide (2) carefully forward and to one side or lift off
and remove recoil spring (3) and recoil spring guide (2) from slide (4).
Recoil spring is under tension - use care to control spring during removal!
Figure F Remove the barrel (1) from the slide (4).

Grip removal - press retaining lug (45a) to remove grip plate (45).
The grip plate should only be removed if weapon is extremely dirty (water,
sand, mud, etc) or if changing between grip sizes.
