OPERATION

REMOTE CONTROL (CD 140 only)_____________

- The life of the batteries of the remote control is

around one year.

- For replacement only use batteries of the type

R03, UM4 or AAA.

- Use the '1-0' digit keys to enter numbers directly

when:

selecting another track;

selecting a track to start play with;
selecting tracks when compiling a programme.

Two-figure numbers must be entered within 2

seconds!

DISPLAY (Fig. 3)____________________________

track

- Indicates the track number being played.
- Shows how many tracks there are on the CD.

PAUSE - Lights up when play is interrupted.
PROGR(AM)-Lights up when a programme is being

stored.
min and sec - Indicate:

- the elapsed playing time of a track;
- the remaining playing time of the CD (REM TIME);
- the total playing time of the CD.

REPEAT - Ughts up when the entire CD or a
programme is repeated.

REPEAT 1 - Lights up when a traok is repeated.

SHUFFLE- Lights up when the tracks on the CD are

played in random order.
Err - Lights up if you:

- make an error in operating the player;

- try to start play when the CD is inserted with the

printed side faoing down or if the CD is damaged.

disc - Lights up if you tiy to start play without a CD

in the CD compartment. ■
((to (CD 140 only) - Lights up when the IR REMOTE

eye receives a command from the remote control.

PLAY- Lights up when play starts.

OPEN - Lights up when you open the CD com­

partment.
STAND BY (CD 140 only) - Lights up when the player
is in STAND BY mode.

PLAYBACK (PLAY/replay)_____________________

• Open the CD compartment by pressing OPEN/

close.

• Insert a CD in the CD compartment, printed side

up (Fig. 4).

• Press PLAY/replay.

- The CD compartment closes, PMYlights up for a

second and playback starts.

You can also close the CD compartment by

pressing its front; playback will then start automati­
cally.

- The track being played is always shown above

’traok’ and its elapsed playing time is shown above
’min’ and ’sec’.

• Press REM TIME if you wish to know the remaining

playing time of the CD.

- After the last track play stops.

- The display shows the number of tracks and the

playing time of the CD.

IMPORTANT!

- The lens of the laser (fig. 5) should never be

touchedi

- If none of the player functions are used for two

minutes, the player will switch to STAND BY.

The same will happen if you hold the STOP/om key

pressed down for two seconds.

The information will then disappear from the

display.

Press any button to switoh the player back on

again.

To switch off the player fully, remove the plug from

the wall socket.

GOING BACK TO THE BEGINNING OF A TRACK
(PLAY/replay)_______________________________

• Press PLAY/replay.

- The track starts again from the beginning.

SELECTING ANOTHER TRACK DURING PLAY
(K1 TRACK»)________________________________

• Press W or M until the desired track number

appears above ’track’.

- The music stops and a moment later the selected

track begins to play.

SEARCHING FOR A PASSAGE DURING PLAY

• Hold • (Hold W> down to search forwards.

The searching speed is determined by how long a

key is pressed:

- the first 2 seconds fairly slowly, with sound;
- then at maximum speed, with no sound.

If you reaoh the end of the last track of the CD and
release », play will resume a few seconds before

the end.
