The C-10 is designed to rout out random cracks using the EDCO
“laser welded” dry diamond blade. Width and diameter selection is
critical to the operation of the unit. Edco offers a complete line of
dry diamond blades for the C-10 including:
Slot
Blade Cutting
Dia Width Width Auger Arbor
8 x .250 3/8” 1”
8 x .375 1/2” 1”
8 x .500 5/8” 1”
* “V” type blades are available. Call for further information.
The blade turns clockwise when facing the shaft. Make sure that the
blade rotation arrow is pointing in the proper direction. Incorrect rotation
of the blade could reduce cutting life.
SETTING CUTTING DEPTH
Make sure machine is not running while setting or making these
adjustments.
1. Release the blade lifting lever with blade already mounted on shaft.
2. NOTE:
USE STEP A. If the blade is resting on the work surface.
OR
USE STEP B. If the blade is above the work surface.
A:
Note the distance between the height adjustment caster and the work sur-
face. That represents the depth of cut the blade will provide you. In most
cases, 1/2” depth is sufficient.
B:
Unscrew the height adjustment caster (in middle of saw) until the caster
is above the work surface. The distance between the bottom of the
caster and the work surface is the cutting depth.
After required cutting depth is determined, tighten locking nut on
height adjusting caster assembly.
As the blade wears, slight adjustments in depth will be required.
STARTING THE SAW
1. Always start saw with lifting handle in the UP position. (Blade off
the ground.)
2. See engine or motor manufacturers instruction manual for starting
instructions.
3. After 2-3 minute warm-up period, (does not apply to electric models).
Align the blade with the crack, slowly release the blade lowering
handle until the diamond blade enters the crack. The saw will want to
move in the direction of the crack (path of least resistance). Guide it
along as desired. (Do not cut more than 3/4” deep per pass blade
may overheat.)
4. Sawing
Run engine at full throttle, (does not apply to electric models). The
faster the blade is turning, the cooler it will operate and the longer it
will last.
Use the blade as a pivot point. Do not force the blade through tight
corners. Let the saw do the cutting.
CUTTING SPEEDS OF BLADES ARE APPROXIMATE:
1/2” deep .250 width - Asphalt - 15’ per minute
1/2” deep .375 width - Asphalt - 10’ - 12’ per minute
1/2” deep .500 width - Asphalt - 10’ - 12’ per minute
