OPERATING AND SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
FOR
C-10 CRACK CHASING SAW
General Description
The EDCO Model C-10 “Crack Chaser”
The C-10 is completely redesigned and now offered with a vacuum hood,
designed to control dust during crack chasing. The vacuum used with
the C-10 must have high CFM (over 200) and sufficient filtration to
capture submircon silica particles. We recommend that a dual stage,
self-purging system be utilized. There are many different types of
vacuum systems available. Please call EDCO for our list of
approved EDCO vacuum systems or visit our web site at
www.edcoinc.com for more information.
We have also redesigned the under carriage of the C-10; the blade is now low-
ered into a cutting position from the handle, and can be raised out
of the cut by releasing the spring loaded lifting handle.
The C-10 is available with (5) different power source options:
Gasoline
(1) Honda 9,11,13 HP.
(2) Kohler 8 HP.
(3) Kohler 8 H.P. w/Propane Kit
Electric
(4) Baldor 5 HP 1PH-230 Volt
(5) Baldor 5 HP 3PH-230/460 Volt
The C-10 can be used with either a 7”, 8” or 10” diameter blade. We
recommend that for crack chasing an 8” diameter blade be used. For
joint cleaning, typically the 10” blade will work best.
The C-10 still works on a down cut principle, and you pull the unit toward
you as the blade almost seems to seek the crack out. The unit is riding
on three caster assemblies, and will allow you to follow any random crack.
