Expanding your system
The GE Smart Remote Pius devices operate on any of 8 user-settable channels. The channels are
easy to set/ adjust-with the simple turn of a knob. Set up your GE SmartHome™ by purchasing as
many transmitters and receivers as you need. The following table is just one example of how you
can configure your Smart Remote Plus system:

Operating Instructions
FOR INDOOR USE ONLY
1. Find the slot labeled HOUSE CODE on the front of the unit.
2. Setthe HOUSE CODE to any one of the following settings:

NOTE: Make sure ALL your GE Smart Remote Plus devices have the same HOUSE CODE setting. The
transmitters WILL NOT control the receivers if they have different HOUSE CODE settings.
IMPORTANT! HOUSE CODES help eliminate interference (devices randomly turn on / off).
If you experience interference, change the HOUSE CODE on all your GE Smart Remote Plus
transmitters and receivers to a different setting.
3. Setthe CHANNEL by using the knob on front as shown.
NOTE: If you set your Wall Switch to CHANNEL 1, the unit can be controlled using
any transmitter set to CHANNEL 1. If you set your Wall Switch to CHANNEL 2, the
unit can be controlled using any transmitter set to CHANNEL 2... and so on.
IMPORTANT! A transmitter will control a receiver ONLY if they have the same HOUSE CODE and
CHANNEL settings.
WARNING: Turn off power first by removing the fuse or switching the circuit breaker to OFF. This
product requires some knowledge of electrical wiring and must he installed in accordance with
the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local codes.
4. Remove the wall plate and existing wall switch.
5. Connect the Wall Switch wires to the electrical boxwires using the following diagram as a guide.

Meets Standard color coding. Color coding in your home may vary.
Make sure you twist the strands of each lead tightly together and proteetthe connections by
screwing wire nuts clockwise over the ends. Secure each wire nut with electrical tape.
6. Carefully push the wiring into the elecfrical box, mount the Wall Switch and replace the existing wail plate.
NOTE: Metallic wall plates may degrade operating range.
7. Restore power.
8. Slide the control switch beneath the toggle to ON (OFF) to enable (disable) the unit.

9. Using any of the transmitters set to the same CHANNEL and HOUSE CODE, test the installation by
using the ON and OFF buttons.
