Product Information

The Boekel Scientific Polar Block is a convenient and reliable way for labs to store
restriction enzymes or other reagents right at the lab bench. The Polar Block produces
internal well temperatures of 35

°C to 39°C below ambient resulting in a typical -15°C

benchtop storage temperature. The Polar Block comes with a transportable-machined
aluminum block, which accommodates 14 x 1.5 mL microcentrifuge tubes. The aluminum
block can be removed from the Polar Block and placed in a large freezer from long turn
storage of samples.

Additional and different sample size storage blocks are also available for the Polar Block.
(See Section 5 for additional Information)

Under typical lab ambient temperatures and low humidity, the Polar Block has an
operating range of ambient down to –15

°C to -19°C, or approximately 35.0°C below

ambient. The well temperature will typically fluctuate less than +/-0.5

°C around the

stabilized temperature under normal operating conditions. Excessively high ambient
temperatures or high humidity may negatively affect the Polar Block’s performance.
