Introduction
What is DOKuStar Validation for Ascent Capture?
DOKuStar Validation for Ascent Capture is a software module that links DOKuStar Validation into Ascent
Capture as a custom module.
DOKuStar Validation for Ascent Capture can be used in Ascent Capture Batch Classes like any
other Ascent Capture queue. Typically, it would replace the Ascent Capture Validation queue, but it
could also be used together with it.
In contrast to the Ascent Capture Validation module, DOKuStar Validation for Ascent Capture
allows testing and editing of complex data structures like table fields and elements of addresses. Of course
simple index fields, documents classes and types will also be processed.
In addition, DOKuStar Validation for Ascent Capture includes a VBA scripting interface that allows users
to write Visual Basic scripts to perform automatic procedures such as field comparison, verification and so
on.
Up to four DOKuStar Validation stations can be integrated into Ascent Capture, any of them without user
interface as needed. This allows multiple validation.
Multiple validation allows to use several project or batch specific validation steps on one or several
computers. E. g. one station may be used only to validate amounts while another is used for validation of
addresses. Multiple validation could also be used to precede a normal validation station by an automatic
validation without user interface that does some preprocessing on the data.
In the automatic variant, validation will be done automatically by according VBA-Scripts without any user
interaction. The user controlled variant offers a GUI to enter or validate data (associated with a document)
by an operator, if necessary also supported by VBA-Scripts.
This manual covers the installation and the use of DOKuStar Validation for Ascent Capture as well as the
interface between DOKuStar Validation and Ascent Capture. For detailed information of the VBA scripting
interface and the usage of automatic validation see the
Programming Manual. For a description of
Ascent Capture refer to the manuals of this product.
This manual assumes that you are familiar with the parameterization and terminology of Ascent Capture.
