Operating
the Lawn
Mower
WARNING
Refer to the engine man-
ual for help with engine
controls and maintenance.
WARNING: If you strike
a foreign object, stop the
engine. Remove wire from
the spark plug, thor-
oughly inspect mower for
any damage, and repair
damage before restarting
and operating. Exten-
sive vibration of mower
during operation is an
indication of damage. The
unit should be promptly
inspected and repaired.
Engine Controls
Refer to Figure 4-2 for locations of the engine controls.
Refer to the engine manual for more detailed information.
Recoil Starter
The recoil starter is used to pull-start the engine.
Oil Drain Valve
Use the oil drain valve to drain oil from the engine. Refer
to the Maintenance section for instructions.
Air Cleaner Handle
The air cleaner handle is used to gain access to the air
cleaner. The air cleaner cartridge can be removed and
cleaned or replaced. Refer to the Maintenance section
for instructions.
Spark Plug/Spark Plug Wire
Refer to the Maintenance section for instructions on
spark plug replacement.
Oil Cap/Dipstick
Refer the Maintenance section for instructions on
changing the oil.
