Model 1030E Standalone Enclosure User Manual
The Model 1030E standalone enclosure shown in Figure 1 supports one 2U-sized module.
The front provides a slot for one module. The back includes either an AC power cord socket or a DC
power inlet.

Installing and Using the 1030E Enclosure
1. Place the 1030E on a secure surface with room for air flow and within reach of the power
source.
2. Insert a module in the guide rails and press it firmly into the backplane, then secure the
thumbscrew finger-tight.
3. For instructions on using the module in the 1030E enclosure, reference the Module’s user
manual.
Connecting AC Power
1. Plug the power cord into the receptacle on the rear of the 1030E enclosure.
2. Plug the other end of the power cord into the AC power source. This turns on the power. To
turn off the power, unplug the power cord from the AC power source.
Connecting DC Power
1. Loosen the terminal screws for +, -, and GND
2. Slide the wires one at a time (red = +, black = -, and green = GND) into the square openings
in the bottom of the terminal block.
3. Tighten the terminal screws.
4. Use an ohmmeter to verify that +/- 48 VDC Power lead is not shorted to GND.
