Read fire extinguisher label
completely before you read
this owner’s manual.
Which Extinguisher To Use
There are several different types of fire
extinguishers. Type ABC extinguishers
fight wood, paper and cloth fires, plus
flammable liquid and electrical fires.
Type BC extinguishers are for
flammable liquids and electrical fires.
Residential kitchen range fire extin-
guishers are for small contained cook-
ing oil fires such as pots, skillets and
griddles. These are special use fire
extinguishers and are not identified
by a common fire class (ABC or BC).
To determine which class or special use
your extinguisher is designed to fight,
refer to the front extinguisher label.
Using the wrong extinguisher on a fire
could do more harm than good. Be
sure you understand which extinguisher
is appropriate for each class of fire.
For protection against ALL COMMON
CLASSES OF FIRES except kitchen
range fires, you must choose a type
ABC extinguisher.
Inspection And Maintenance
To insure that your fire extinguisher
will be ready when needed:
• Read and follow all instructions on
label and in owner’s manual.
• Inspect the extinguisher AT LEAST
once a month-more frequently
if exposed to weather or possible
tampering.
• Check that extinguisher is charged.
Pointer on pressure indicator MUST
be in green section. If pointer is in
red or white section, extinguisher
is NOT ready for use.
• Be sure the lock pin is firmly in place.
• Keep the extinguisher clean. Check
for dents, scratches, corrosion or any
other damage.
• Check the discharge nozzle.
Make sure it is clean and free
of obstructions.
DO NOT TEST BY PARTIALLY
DISCHARGING. LOSS OF
PRESSURE WILL OCCUR.
Twelve Year Limited Warranty
For twelve (12) years from date of
manufacture, KIDDE will repair or
replace this product, model RESSP to
the original owner free of charge, if
defective in material or workmanship.
This warranty does not apply to
damage resulting from accident,
alteration, abuse or failure to follow
instructions supplied.
KIDDE, at its option, may refund the
purchase price in lieu of replacement
or repair. ANY AND ALL IMPLIED
WARRANTIES, INCLUDING ANY
WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY
OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR
PURPOSE SHALL BE LIMITED TO A
PERIOD OF SIX (6) YEARS FROM DATE
OF PURCHASE. KIDDE, its dealers and
distributors shall not be responsible
or in any way liable for any incidental
special or consequential damages.

Hay varios tipos diferentes de extin-

Inspección y mantenimiento
Para asegurarse de que su extintor esté
listo cuando lo necesite:
• Lea y siga todas las instrucciones de la

• Inspeccione el extintor AL MENOS una
vez al mes; y más frecuentemente, si
está expuesto al clima o a una posible
manipulación.
• Revise si el extintor está cargado.

indicador está en la sección roja o
blanca, el extintor NO está listo
para utilizarlo.
• Asegúrese que la clavija del pasador

• Mantenga el extintor limpio. Revise
si tiene abolladuras, rayas, corrosión

• Revise la boquilla de descarga.
Asegúrese que esté limpia y libre
de obstrucciones..

Garantía limitada de doce años
Durante doce (12) años después de la
fecha de fabricación, KIDDE reparará
o reemplazará este producto, modelo
RESSP, para el propietario original sin
cargo alguno, en caso de estar defec-
tuoso en los materiales o la fabricación.
Esta garantía no se aplica a los daños
resultantes de accidentes, alteración,
abuso o incumplimiento de las instruc-
ciones suministradas.
KIDDE, a su opción, puede reem-
bolsar el precio de compra en lugar
de su reemplazo o reparación.

COMERCIABILIDAD O IDONEIDAD PARA
