7.1.2

Select an “sconf” Base Configuration

The AM4150 default board configuration is as follows:

“sconf” base configuration:

0

SRIO system size:

small

SRIO interface mode:

agent

GbE (dTSEC4):

port 1

The currently active “sconf” base configuration can be determined using the U-Boot “sconf status”
command. To change the “sconf” base configuration, the U-Boot “sconf select ” command
is used. Depending on the base configuration chosen, there are additional options that can be
changed using the “sconf set

When saving a new “sconf” base configuration, the FRU data is modified to reflect the “new”
AMC interconnection capabilities required for E-Keying. Additionally, it is required to inform the
carrier IPMC or the MCH about the changed capabilities of the module. This is done either by
performing a system power cycle or by removing the module and reinserting it. In both cases,
the carrier IPMC or the MCH reads out the “new” capabilities of the module.

7.1.3

Gigabit Ethernet dTSEC4 Configuration

The dTSEC4 GbE interface is routed by default to AMC port 1. Redirection to the front panel con-
nector J2 (GbE B) is possible for every “sconf” base configuration. Redirection to AMC port 10 is
only possible for some “sconf” base configurations. For information on the Gigabit Ethernet Inter-
face Assignment, please refer to the AM4150 U-Boot Bootloader User Guide, Chapter 6.3.1, In-
terface Selection.

7.1.4

SRIO Configuration

The configuration options to change the SRIO system size (small or large) or the SRIO inter-
face mode (host or agent) are available only for the “sconf” base configurations which provide
an SRIO fabric interface.

7.1.5

Forced AMC Port Activation/Deactivation

The configuration options to forcibly activate or deactivate an AMC port may be useful during
system setup and testing, and are available for each “sconf” base configuration.

7.1.6

Forced Speed Selection

The speed option of a fabric interface is usually selected by E-Keying. The speed option of a
port configured via the U-Boot “sconf set ” command becomes effective only if
this port is forcibly enabled, i.e. E-Keying is suppressed for this port.

Note ...

When a base configuration is selected via the U-Boot “sconf select
command, the configuration options for the AMC ports 2, 3, 4-7 and 8-11 are set
to their default values (auto/E-Keying).
