Direct and indirect heat (e.g. being too close to an oven or a heating appliance) can
cause:
– damage, deformation, softening or melting of plastic or rubber parts and
casing elements, or deterioration of electrical insulation.
Following the operating instructions and avoiding any of the conditions listed
above will help you increase the lifespan of the appliance. The manufacturer is
not responsible if the appliance is stored inappropriately or contrary to these
instructions. You are recommended to have the appliance serviced regularly by an
authorised engineer to keep it working for as long as possible.
Please respect the environment when the appliance reaches the end of its life.
Electrical products must not be disposed of with other residential waste because they
can damage the natural world and may be hazardous to human health. You should
dispose of the appliance at an appropriate recycling site or by using a collection
service that specialises in electrical appliances.
You may wish to contact the retailer or the manufacturer if you are unable to find
convenient local recycling facilities as they have some legal responsibilities for
recycling electrical products.
• Please avoid using the appliance in any place where it would be subjected to high
temperatures, low temperatures, physical shocks or vibration. The appliance is designed
to be operated and stored in a situation where temperatures are between +5° and +40°
Celsius. Do not use the appliance in a wet or humid environment.
• Ensure the mains cable doesn’t contact the device’s hot air blower opening.
• If you dry your hair with curlers, rollers etc. ensure these protrude no more than 10 mm (a
finger’s width) from your hair to avoid contact with electric parts within the device’s blower
opening whilst in use.
• Do not cover the air out- and inlet holes of the device. Should they become covered the
integrated thermal cutout will automatically switch off the hairdryer. If this happens, switch
off the device, unplug it from the wall socket and within half an hour the safety switch will
reset. Continue using the product as described in the manual.
• The grid at the air inlet prevents the device from taking in or tangling hair. Keep hair away
from the intake during use. If the grid openings become clogged for any reason, clean with
a brush or vacuum cleaner. Otherwise, the device will overheat and the thermal cutout
switch will activate.
• Remove hair from the hair styler brushes regularly. This prevents bad odours that would
arise if trapped hair is heated by hot air from the device.
• If your appliance is damaged or operates in an abnormal way, immediately stop using it and
take it to an authorised service engineer for checking, repair or adjustment.
• The manufacturer is not responsible for any damage that results from overuse, incorrect
operation, incorrect maintenance, neglecting the information given in the instruction
manual or normal wear and tear. In addition, the manufacturer is not responsible for
damage caused by any parts of the appliance breaking or cracking.
• In order to avoid electric shock, never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.
Never touch the appliance with wet hands. Never allow the wall socket to become wet. You
must have dry hands when you plug the mains connector into the wall socket and when
you unplug it. If any moisture gets inside the appliance, immediately stop using it and take
it to a service engineer for checking or repair.
• The mains connector must be always disconnected from the wall socket after use and
before cleaning. Never disconnect the appliance from the socket by pulling the mains cable;
always grip the plug!
• Never lay the mains cable beside or across sharp edges or hot surfaces. Never wrap the
mains cable around the cover of the appliance, do not pull the cable and do not lift the
appliance with the mains cable because the cable can break or the insulation can be
damaged. A damaged cable must be replaced by an authorised service engineer. The
appliance must not be used or connected to a wall socket if the cable is damaged.
• Do not lengthen or alter the mains cable of the appliance. If you need a longer cable
between the appliance and the wall socket, you should buy a standard extension cord from
an electrical dealer. When using an extension cord, be careful not to create a hazard that
you or someone else could trip over.
