are dry. Should any moisture get inside the casing of the appliance stop using it immediately and take it to a
specialized service for checking or repair.

This device is not supposed to be used by physically or mentally handicapped people, or persons without
experience or knowledge (including children, as well), unless such a person supervises or guides their use of
the device, who is at the same time responsible for their safety. As for children, supervision is recommended
to make sure that they do not play with the device. This device is not supposed to be used by children under
the age of 14, not even with supervision!

Never lay the mains cable beside or across sharp edges or hot surfaces. Never wrap the mains cable around
the cover of the appliance, do not pull the cable and do not lift the appliance with the mains cable because
the cable can break or the insulation can be damaged. A damaged cable must be replaced by an authorised
service engineer. The appliance must not be used or connected to a wall socket if the cable is damaged.

Do not lengthen or alter the mains cable of the appliance. If you need a longer cable between the appliance
and the wall socket, you should buy a standard extension cord from an electrical dealer. When using an
extension cord, be careful not to create a hazard that you or someone else could trip over.

Always remove the power cable of the appliance from the mains socket after use and before cleaning.
Never power off by holding the power cord and pulling it out of the mains, always hold the plug! Before
disconnecting the power cord from the mains turn the appliance to off!

Never use an appliance or accessory that the manufacturer did not supply with or propose for use with the
appliance. The use of such appliances might lead to accidents or irregular function.

Do not put and store the appliance on direct sunlight, that may couse faded color in the casing, and the
operation could be affected as well.

Don’t use the appliance in the presence of explosive or inflammable gases, vapours or liquids.

The use of the appliance must be avoided in areas where the temperature is too high or too low or where the
appliance is subject to vibrations. Avoid using the appliance under wet or vaporous conditions. The appliance
can be used within the temperature range of +10°C to +35°C and stored within the range of +5°C to +40°C.

Take care not to let any aerosol spray inside the appliance.

The air blower grille of the hair dryer could heat-up during use, therefore avoid contact with the scalp.

Take care to avoid the power cable of the appliance from getting in way of the hair dryer’s air blow holes.

If you dry your hair while using curlers, do not allow any hairpins, etc. to stick out more then 10 mm (finger
width) to avoid any contact with the electric part of the dryer through the air holes.

Never cover the air outlet and inlet holes of the dryer. Should these holes be covered in some way, the safety
thermal release switch of the appliance will disconnect it automatically. After that, the appliance will turn on
again automatically after cooling for a few minutes.

The air grille in front of the inlet air suction hole of the appliance is made to prevent hair from being sucked in
or entangled with it. Keep the hair far from the air suction hole during use. If the openings of the grille have

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION

The following safety instructions must be followed when using the appliance.
Please read this section very carefully!

Of course, it’s not possible for us to anticipate or provide safety rules for every specific situation, so we ask you to
apply commonsense precautions when using the appliance in a situation that isn’t described below.

The appliance has only been designed for indoor use at home. Any other application, including commercial or
professional use, is not permitted. You must not use the appliance outdoors under any circumstances.

Never use the appliance in the bath, in the shower or above a basin containing any water because
of the risk of electric shock. Keep at least one metre from those situations and any other objects
containing liquid when using the appliance. We strongly recommend that you avoid using the
appliance in the bathroom and any other humid or potentially hazardous place. If the appliance
is dropped into water, immediately disconnect it from the mains. Do not attempt to remove it or
touch the water until the power has been switched off. If the appliance has been dropped into
water or been in contact with high levels of humidity, take it to an authorised service engineer
and have it checked before using it again.

Before using the appliance in a bathroom, provide extra protection by installing an additional current safety
switch (RCD) with a maximum sensitivity of 30 mA into the bathroom’s mains supply. A qualified electrician
must perform this installation.

If you put the appliance down during use, always turn it off for safety reasons.

In order to avoid an electric shock, never immerse the appliance, the cord or the plug in water
or any other liquid.

Do not touch the appliance with moist hands. Plug the connector of the appliance into the mains with dry
hands only, and check that the casing, power cord and connector of the appliance as well as the mains socket
