5. You can change the distance between the grill grid and the heating element according to the food you are
grilling and how easily it burns. There are two distance settings. To change the distance setting, position the
grid legs into the corresponding grooves at the upper and lower longitudinal sides of the covering element.
The grill grid should only be moved when the device has completely cooled down.
6. When you stop using the barbecue grill, switch off the device and unplug it from the wall socket. Do not
operate the grill longer than absolutely necessary.
MaINteNaNce aND cleaNINg
Warning! Before you clean the appliance it must be switched off and the mains plug must
be removed from the wall socket.
Before starting cleaning, wait until the barbecue grill has completely cooled down. only
then, remove the cover and start cleaning.
It is very important not to place the heating unit in water and you must never hold it under a water
jet.
1. Once the barbecue grill has been unplugged and cooled down, lift the grill grid and remove the heating unit
from the grill tub. Pour out waste water from the grill tub. Clean both the grill grid and the grill tub with a
slightly damp, smooth, fibre-free cloth or soft cleaning or rinsing agent. Now wipe the clean surfaces dry with
a dry, fibre-free cloth. Before using again, let the appliance completely dry out. Both the grill grid and the grill
tub can be cleaned in a dish-washing machine.
2. When cleaning the appliance, never use solvent (acetone, benzole, petrol, alcohol, etc.) as these may solve the
casing material, or the internal parts of the appliance if they get into. Do not use cleaning agents with coarse
or grinding effect.
3. Never remove the cover of the appliance.
4. The heating unit should be cleaned with a slightly wet sponge or a soft cleaning or rinsing agent. Do not use
rough, rubbing agents or metallic scrubbing pads for cleaning. Never place the heating unit in water or other
liquids. Take particular care to prevent humidity penetrating the cover of the heating unit containing electric
parts. After cleaning, wipe thoroughly and let the heating unit completely dry out.
5. Only ever pack away an appliance that is completely cool and that has been cleaned.
If you don’t plan to use the appliance for a while after cleaning it, place it in a nylon bag and store it in a place
that is free from dust, damp and frost. Do not wrap the mains cable around the appliance when storing it
because the insulation can deteriorate or break under these circumstances.
