TRÔUBLÉSHOOTING CHART
PROBLEM CAUSE CORRECTION
Will not start • Out of fuel. • Rll fuel tank.
• Engine not “CHOKED* prop­
erty.
• See TO START ENGINE" in
Operation section.
• Engine flooded. • Wait several minutes before
attempting to start.
* Bad spark plug. • Replace spark plug.
• Dirty air filter. • Clean/replace air filter.
• Dirty fuel filter. • Replace fljet filter.
• Water in fuel. • Drain fuel tank and carburetor,
refill tank with fresh
gasoline and replace fuel filter.
• Loose or damaged wiring. • Check all wiring.
• Carburetor out of adjustment. • See To Adjust Carburetor” in
Service and Adjustments
section.
• Engine valves out of adjust­
ment.
• Contact an authorized service
center.
Hard to start • Dirty air filter. • Clean/replace air filter.
