Other Settings (Set Up)

Procedure

[MENU] * Set Up Tab * REC/PLAY

• With “Power On/Off”, the camera turns off when you press [

r

] (REC) in the REC

mode or [

p

] (PLAY) in the PLAY mode.

• Change this setting to “Power On” or “Power On/Off” before connecting to a TV for

image viewing.

Procedure

You can use the procedure below to select the USB communication protocol, which is
used when exchanging data with a computer, printer, or other external device.

Configuring [r] and [p] Settings (REC/PLAY)

Power On

Camera turns on whenever [

r

] (REC) or [

p

] (PLAY) is

pressed.

Power On/Off

Camera turns on or off whenever [

r

] (REC) or [

p

] (PLAY) is

pressed.

Disable

Camera does not turn on or off when [

r

] (REC) or [

p

] (PLAY)

is pressed.

Configuring USB Protocol Settings (USB)

Mass Storage

Select this setting when connecting to a computer (pages 126,
135). With this setting, the computer sees the camera as an
external storage device. Use this setting for normal transfer of
images from the camera to a computer.

PTP
(PictBridge)

Select this setting when connecting to a printer that supports
PictBridge (page 117). This setting simplifies the transfer of image
data to the connected device.
