Troubleshooting
Camera
Camera will not operate.
Power is not turned on. zPress the power button (Basic Guide
p. 9).
Memory card slot/battery
cover is open. zConfirm that the memory card slot/
battery cover is securely closed
(Basic Guide p. 6).
Battery charge insufficient
to operate camera
("Change the battery
pack" message displays). zInsert a fully charged battery into the
camera (Basic Guide p. 6).
zUse the AC Adapter Kit ACK-DC10
(sold separately) (p. 130).
Poor contact between
camera and battery
terminals. zPolish the terminals with a soft
cotton swab before charging or
using the battery (p. 126).
Sounds come from the camera interior.
The camera's horizontal/
vertical orientation was
changed. zThe camera's orientation
mechanism is operating. There is no
malfunction.
When the power is turned on
"Card locked!" message appears.
The SD memory card's
and SDHC memory
card's write protect tab is
set to "Write protect". zWhen recording to, erasing from or
formatting the memory card, slide
the write protect tab upward (p. 128).
The Date/Time menu appears.
The built-in rechargeable
lithium battery charge is
low. zRecharge the built-in battery
immediately (Basic Guide p. 8).
