Row Unit Down Pressure (Springs)
For working in tire tracks you can increase spring down
pressure at individual rows.
Refer to Figure 21
This table provides the down-force values with tool bar
and parallel arms level with the ground.
To adjust spring pressure:
1.
Measure the current bolt reveal
at each spring.
Measure from the top of the cast spring plug to the
bottom of the bolt head (top of washer).
2.
Determine the current row force from the table
above. Select the new down-force desired.
3.
Loosen the jam nut
4.
Turn the bolt head
to obtain the new reveal value.
Make the same adjustment to both springs.

Equipment Damage Risks:
Adjusting pressure at the springs for all rows is not
recommended. Row tool damage may result and/or tractor
rear wheels may slip. Reducing spring pressure below factory
values may result in bolt thread stripping.
