How to Reinstall Engine
Air Cleaner/Filter
1. Install the air cleaner element to the air cleaner
housing. Ensure that the air cleaner element
perimeter seal is installed correctly to the air cleaner
housing.
2. Align the air cleaner housing cover tabs to the air
cleaner housing.
3. Install the air cleaner housing cover.
4. Install the air cleaner housing cover screws.
5. Install the surge tank hose to the air cleaner housing
mounting arm. Ensure that the hose is routed
correctly.
6. Install the air cleaner outlet duct to the air cleaner
housing.
7. Tighten the air cleaner outlet duct screw clamp.
8. Attach electrical connector to airbox.
9. Reinstall side cover.
{ CAUTION:
Operating the engine with the air cleaner/filter
off can cause you or others to be burned.
The air cleaner not only cleans the air; it helps
to stop flames if the engine backfires. If it is
not there and the engine backfires, you could
be burned. Do not drive with it off, and be
careful working on the engine with the air
cleaner/filter off.
Notice: If the air cleaner/filter is off, a backfire can
cause a damaging engine fire. And, dirt can
easily get into your engine, which will damage it.
Always have the air cleaner/filter in place when you
are driving.
