5.4. DRIVING A POST
Note:
On Skid Steer / 3pt Center Mast models, remove hairpins on transport locks
(Figure 2.1) before operating.

:
1. Using the hydraulic controls, raise the impact head and open the hugger

2. Place the post standing up straight against the roller plate cones. Ensure that
your hands are clear of the hugger. Close the hugger arm to clamp post in.
Some adjustment of the roller arm may be required to hold the post firmly
(Figure 5.2).
3. To adjust hugger, turn the adjuster bolt on the hugger arm until the roller arm
cones are centered on the post.
4. If various sizes of posts are to be used on a job, the hugger arm may need to
be adjusted to fit at each substantial change of post size.
5. Post is now ready for driving.
NOTICE
Do not allow the hammer to collide forcefully with the rubber
hammer stop. Always slow the speed of the hammer before
it reaches the hammer stop to avoid damaging the
equipment.
WARNING
Keep hands clear of hammer when driving
post. Always use the post hugger to hold the
post in position.
