Reassembly
1 Reinstall the encoder disc with the same point at 12 o’clock but with its
opposite face out. If there is any question about the orientation of the
disc, refer to
Figure 8. But remember that once Position 1 has been
located according to that illustration, the disc must be flipped over (on
an axis from 12 o’clock to 6 o’clock, so that the opposite face is out) to
function properly when the direction of the motor is reversed.
2. Locate the three leads (yellow, gray, and black) that form the connection
from the motor to the circuit board. Looking at the connector, observe
the three small metal tines, one for each wire. Depressing the high point
of the tine with a ball point pen or something similar will allow the wire to
be extracted from the connector. See
Figure 9. Reverse the positions of
the yellow and gray wires, making sure the wires are pushed back in far
enough to fully engage the tines.
3. Follow the steps for reassembly in the previous section.
