7- Run the newly covered wiring harness under the vehicle as straight as possible to the batteries and by using the

included steel clamps, screws and plastic ties. Secure the harness every 12-18 inches or so and make sure the
harness cannot be cut or damaged by sharp edge components.

If your vehicle is equipped with an air ride cabin, make sure to leave enough cable unattached to allow

suspension movement.

Do not run or attach the wiring harness close to hot surfaces like exhaust pipes, oil cooler, transmission

or engine block.

8- Once in the battery compartment (BLACK = NEGATIVE, RED = POSITIVE)

Avoid overloading battery terminals, by selecting the ones without additional accessories.

Battery charger terminals must be on top of any other terminals and in direct contact with the terminal

nut. This procedure will eliminate potential conflict with the original electrical system of your vehicle.

120 Volts Connections

Take note this procedure may differ from one vehicle to another.

Option 1:

For a regular application, you may use our SPKIT (Shore Power kit) which includes all the necessary
material to connect your battery charger to shore power.

Option 2:

You may use any extension cord to supply the charger in AC current

Option 3:

Considering its moderate consumption, this 12 volt battery charger can be combined with most engine
block heaters and be powered using a single 15 amp outlet.

For this application, we recommend using a “Y” CORD from Phillips/Temro designed to supply a block heater and a
oil pan heater using the same inlet receptacle (shown in hereunder picture) Various options are available in terms of
cable length, and we recommend that you consult your truck dealer, or truck parts retailer to evaluate which cable may
better fit your needs. The right AC cable depends on how far the receptacle will be located from the block heater and
the battery charger. You may refer to this chart

(7 ft. / 7 ft.

= PN: 8607990)

(7 ft. / 10 ft.

= PN: 8608059)

(14 ft. / 14 ft.

1- If not already equipped, install a Phillips/Temro receptacle under the vehicle cabin in a easily accessible

location

2- Clip on the black side of the cable onto the receptacle.
3- Install the cable going to the block heater
4- On the cable going to the battery charger, cut the orange terminal and take the nut away.
