CARE AND CLEANING
During normal usage, descale the kettle at least twice a year. Always remove
the plug from the power socket before cleaning.
For regular removal of scale from the kettle we recommend using BODUM
®
cleaner and descaler (art. no. 05-3000C&D) or any other standard descaler.
Please follow these instructions:
– Dissolve contents of BODUM ® cleaner and descaler package in 4 cups of
warm water.
– Pour the water into the kettle, turn it on and boil the water as usual.
– Once boiled, empty out the water, rinse all components and repeat steps 1
and 2 twice with clean water.
Do not use chemicals, steel wool or abrasive cleaners to clean
the outside of the kettle.
STORAGE
– Excess cord can be stored in the storage cavity inside the base unit (

NOTE: Ensure the power is off when the kettle is not in use.

SHORT CORD
a) A short power-supply cord (or detachable power-supply cord) is to be pro-
vided to reduce risks resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over
a longer cord.
b) Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords are available and
may be used if care is exercised in their use.
c) If a long detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is used, 1) The
marked electrical rating of the detachable power-supply cord or extension
cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance,
2)If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a
grounding-type 3-wire cord, and 3) The longer cord should be arranged so
that it will not drape over the counter top or table top where it can be
pulled on by children or tripped over.
