Remove stock steering shaft:
1. Center the front wheels and steering wheel, making sure the wheels don’t move from this
position.
2. Turn ignition off (AIR BAGS CAN BE DEPLOYED IF CAR IGNITION IS LEFT ON).
3. Unbolt stock steering shaft from the steering column, and rack and pinion. Push the
steering shaft up toward the firewall until the lower steering coupler comes off the rack
and pinion. If the shaft is corroded and won’t come free, remove the rack and pinion
assembly from the frame and then remove shaft.
