Notice of Additional Requirements for California Motorcycles
S&S® Teardrop Air Cleaners are legal for sale and use in the State of California on stock Harley-Davidson® motorcycles originally
equipped with Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI). This includes 2001 Softail® models with Delphi® EFI, all 2002-2009 models with Delphi
EFI, 2008-2009 Touring models with electronic throttle control and 2007-2009 Sportster® models. In order for the Teardrop Air Cleaner
to be considered legal for use in California, the following requirements must be met.
• Components are properly installed according to the installation instructions provided.
• No tuning adjustments are made to the engine.
• Product identification label is correctly installed.
Install Product Identification Label:
Included with each Teardrop Air Cleaner is a product identification label (see image below). This label must be attached permanently
on or near the system and must be visible when the device is installed. S&S recommends placing the label on the frame near the
manufactures labels.
Use the following steps to install the label:
1- Thoroughly clean and dry area to which label will be applied.
2- Remove paper backing from label.
3- Carefully place label in desired position and press sticker onto surface.
4- Smooth any wrinkles or air bubbles by gently pressing them outward from center of label past the edge.
