S&S Cycle T124V Engine VFI for 1995 1/2-1998 Chassis User Manual
Page 2

Customers installing our T124V engine in a 1998 and earlier H-D® motorcycle need to add an external bank angle sensor. The camshaft position
sensor on these motorcycles also functioned as a bank angle sensor; however this sensor cannot be used on the T124V engine. It is extremely
important to properly terminate or cover the exposed terminals on the motorcycle after removing the camshaft position sensor. Failure to do so
could result in electrical problems.
In addition the barometric pressure sensor has to be changed from a stock sensor to a Delphi® style and relocated.
The stock crank position sensor connector must be changed to a Delphi DTM style connector.
Customers must use 99-2001 calibrations with MAP synchronization for correct engine operation.
ADDITION OF A BANk ANgLE SENSOR
Parts Needed:
• (3) H-D®# 72033-93 Socket Terminal
• H-D# 72399-98 Connector – 3 way
• H-D# 32495-98 Bank Angle Sensor
• H-D# 72326-95 ECM Terminal
• Recommended wire colors:
-LTGN/GY, Bank Angle Signal
-BK, Chassis GND
-GY, Switched Ignition Power
Procedure:
1- Mount the bank angle sensor with the connector end facing downwards. The body of the sensor must be perpendicular to the motorcycle; the
cast H-D part number in the sensor should face either the front or the back of the motorcycle.
2- Populate the 3 – way connector using the following position assignment:
• A: Bank Angle Signal, LTGN/GY
• B: Chassis GND, BK
• C: Switched Ignition Power, GY
Note: The H-D wiring diagrams list these as 1, 2, & 3 instead of A, B, & C.
3- The Bank Angle Signal wire (LTGN/GY) must be routed from position A of the bank angle connector to position 7 of the S&S VFI 35-terminal
module connector.
4- The Chassis GND wire (BK) can be routed from position B of the bank angle connector directly to the chassis. The Switched Ignition Power wire
(GY) can be routed from position C of the bank angle connector and tapped into a switched power wire (W/BK).

CAUTION
S&S® Fuel Injection is not compatible with E85 fuel. Use of E85 fuel may cause your engine to run poorly and/or damage to system
components.
